- the world is in turmoil -

Around the world people are dying and governments are struggling for strategies to manage a pandemic and 'save lives', without collapsing the world economy and threaten our livelihoood.

The threat we're called upon to stay at home to 'fight' this 'war' ... is a virus.

Covid-19 is a product of nature, like ourselves ... a sub-microscopic, non-sentient, biological entity which bears no malice against us and only seeks hosts for its own survival; just as we find the means of our own survival, in the natural environment.

While we desperately await a vacinne that will 'save us', perhaps we should be asking ourselves how and why a product of our natural environment could be so threatening; and whether a vacinne will just give us another chance to kick the can down the road ... again.

If our world economy and livelihood is so disrupted, perhaps we should be examining that political-economy, to understand the damage it might be doing to our environment; and to make it more resilient.

Perhaps we should be looking at who controls our natural resources and why it results in the unsustainable consumption of those resources ... and such extreme inequalities. If we don't, we are likely to be right back here again, when we catch up with that can we kicked down the road.

This is an opportunity - while we all feel so threatened by a virus - to deal with the issues we've been avoiding.
